Atlas Ramachandran, 80-year-old well-known NRI businessman and film director, died on Sunday.
The Mathrubhoomi newspaper reports that he died late Sunday at the Aster Hospital in Mankhool, Dubai due to a heart attack caused by age-related illness.
M. M. Ramachandran is known as Atlas Ramachandran in theollywoodworld. He was born on July 31 1942 and died in October 02 2022. He entered the film world as a film producer and actor. As the chairman of Atlas Jewellery, he brought out the tagline of his pieces, “Janakodikalude Vishwastha Sthapanam.”
He also distributed films under the banner “Chandrakanth Films.” Rajendran produced the 1988 Vaisali film as well as the 1994 Suprutham film. He also acted in the 2007 film Subhadram as the lead. Ramachandran was arrested in 2015 for a financial fraud case. He was released in 2018 after spending 3 years in prison in Dubai.
Mathukkara Moothedath Ramachandran was born on July 31 1942 in Thrissur; he is the son of V. Kamalakara Menon, who died in 1995. From an early age, Mathukkara was exposed to many cultural and literary traditions. His parents regularly held Akshara Shlokam recitation sessions at home.
Ramachandran was the second son of his parents; the third of eight children. He later moved to New Delhi for work after he earned his bachelor’s degree in commerce from St.Thomas College. Ramachandran’s move was driven by a personal aspiration to pursue a career in science.
