Longtime Hollywood Publicist Carl Samrock Passes Away at Age 81
Carl Samrock, a seasoned publicist in Hollywood who spent 50 years working for Warner Bros. and running his own company, has passed away. He was 81.
At his home in Encino, Samrock passed away on Saturday night from pancreatic cancer, according to a statement from his 44-year wife Carol Andelman Samrock.
Under co-chairmen Bob Daly and Terry Semel, Samrock served as vice president of national publicity at Warner Bros. Pictures in Burbank. He started working for the company in 1982 as the West Coast publicity director and oversaw a 16-person team that was in charge of handling publicity for about 30 films that were being produced or released each year.
