He pursued a professional acting career until he was nineteen years old. In October 2014, Ressler quit his job and helped build Tony Hsieh’s vision, the internationally acclaimed “Downtown Project”, to take a sabbatical in Asia. After returning home, he put on a one-man show at the Smith Center for the Performing Arts.
The show was written by Ressler and directed by Larry Pellegrini.
After moving to Las Vegas, Ressler connected with First Friday and the Downtown Project. First Friday is a community event held on the first Friday of each month featuring the art of Southern Nevada artists.
He was instrumental in expanding the range of activities. After joining First Friday’s Board of Directors as Head of Communications, Sponsorships and Special Projects, monthly attendance has grown from 1,500 to over 30,000 in less than three years.
Ressler was honored by Congresswoman Dina Titus and Mayor Carolyn Goodman for “the economic impact of his work on the City of Las Vegas.” He is also in charge of the launch of the art project “Art Motel” of the “Beautiful Life” art festival and the crisis communication of the art festival.
In 2013, Ressler started a Twitter experiment with hashtags. The idea is that people will push their efforts to him and he will help them connect them with people who have resources so they will bear fruit. Ressler set out to make some of those dreams a reality.
