A girl from West Ridge High School named Gracie McBryant, who passed away the previous day due to injuries sustained in a fire, was honored at a vigil on Tuesday evening. A benefit concert for the West Ridge band, which had been planned well in advance of the tragic fire, served as the setting for the vigil. McBryant was a first-year student at the school and he played the clarinet in the band.

The event that took place on Tuesday night evolved into something greater than a simple fundraiser; it provided McBryant’s friends and fellow band members with an opportunity to come together and mourn their comrades. Stickley Farm was the location, and the personnel there expressed their gratitude to News Channel 11 for the opportunity to participate in the event and to provide a venue in which individuals were able to congregate.

Pamela Ragan, the general manager of Stickley Farm, told those present that “you know these kids, they’re actually all enduring a lot of heartaches right now.” “She was a really good friend to a lot of people, and they needed a night out like this simply to clear their thoughts and have a nice time,” said the person who organized the event.

The band has started a GoFundMe campaign in order to provide financial assistance to McBryant’s family. As of Tuesday, the amount that had been raised surpassed $8,000.
