Death-Obituary Who Is Jesus Salgado? Man Arrested After California Family Found Dead

According to the Merced County Sheriff’s Office, a guy who is 48 years old was taken into custody on Tuesday morning as a suspect in the kidnapping and murder of a family of four that occurred in the Central Valley of California. The victims were from the area. Officials have stated that the man, who has been named Jesus Manuel Salgado, is currently in severe condition in the hospital following an attempt to commit suicide before investigators could reach him.

The police were able to question him about the case, but Salgado is refusing to help with the investigation into the slayings of the four members of the family that is being conducted by the sheriff’s office. According to the California Department of Corrections and Rehabilitation, the man, who is 48 years old, had previously been known to law enforcement. He had previously been convicted of first-degree robbery with the use of a firearm, attempted false imprisonment, an attempt to prevent or dissuade a victim or witness, and possession of a controlled substance in Merced County. All of these crimes were committed in Merced County.

In connection with that case, he was given a term of 11 years in state prison and was eventually freed in 2015. In 2018, he was released from his parole obligations. Salgado’s possible purpose for the crime is still unknown, although detectives assume it was financial. Merced County police did not specify whether Salgado had previously known the kidnapped family, and his possible motivation for the crime is still unknown. Aroohi Dheri, who was eight months old at the time of her abduction, her mother Jasleen Kaur, who was 27 years old, her father Jasdeep Singh, who was 36 years old, and her uncle Amandeep Singh, who was 39 years old, were all taken from the South Merced Area of the county, according to a statement released by the Merced County Sheriff’s Office on Monday.

After further investigation, it was determined that the missing family was initially brought to the attention of the authorities after CAL FIRE Madera-Mariposa-Merced was called to the intersection of Buhach Road and Oakdale Road in Winton in response to a complaint of a vehicle fire. It was determined that Amandeep Singh was the owner of the car, which turned out to be a black 2020 Dodge Ram pickup. Officers were unsuccessful in their search for Amandeep Singh and contacted his family members, who also were unable to get in touch with him. The subsequent investigation led detectives to the conclusion that the family had been taken hostage at gunpoint.

The same day, the police were able to identify a suspect who was captured on surveillance camera film. They referred to the individual as “a light-complected male with a shaved head” and said that they had spotted him wearing a sweatshirt during his last sighting. The cops found out early on Tuesday that one of the kidnapped family member’s credit cards had been used at an automated teller machine in Atwater. They were eventually able to identify Salgado as a person of interest in the case, and they posted an image of a man on Facebook who they believed to be the suspect, but it later became clear that the man in the photo was not the perpetrator.

The security video of the kidnapping was published by the sheriff’s office early on Wednesday morning. The video shows a suspect carrying a pistol — who the sheriff’s office believes to be Salgado — walking outside of a shop with Jasdeep Singh and Amandeep Singh. Before the two were put inside the suspect’s truck, their hands can be seen zip-tied over their backs in a visible position on the video. Full Story
