Kevin Moses’s niece, Mahkala Huggins, had started a GoFundMe page to raise money for medical expenses and raised $14,500 in less than 24 hours as of Monday afternoon.

Sadding wrote on the page: “In September 2022, our jubilant, humorous Coach Mo received devastating news — he was diagnosed with Stage IV (4) Colon Cancer. Coach Mo is married to the love of his life, Karen, with whom he shares two beautiful children, Kevin Jr., and Brandi. He has been a pillar of the Bloomfield community for many years, recently becoming the first Black head coach to lead Bloomfield High School’s basketball team to a historical state championship victory. Despite the news of his diagnosis and undergoing treatment, Coach Mo remains positive, spirited, and strong.”

Kevin Moses another niece said “He’s very much a family man,” Andrea DeLisser, on Monday afternoon. “He’s all about his coaching and his boys. They’re all like extended family. He intends on fighting as much as he can, given the diagnosis.”
