Three-year-old Chloe Campbell, who vanished from south-east Queensland, has been recovered alive and reunited with her mother.
According to Inspector Kevin Gutteridge, Chloe was discovered in the Childers Showgrounds late on Friday night safe and sound.
Inspector Gutteridge remarked, “It’s one of those dreams that came true.”
“It’s the best ending for everyone, and it was absolutely fantastic for her to be reunited with her mom at the hospital this morning.”
He remarked that it seemed like a strange place that she was discovered and requested anyone with information to come forward.
On Thursday morning, the girl vanished from her Childers home, setting off a massive police search.
Her parents had expressed concern that she was targeted particularly and abducted through an unlocked window, prompting comparisons in other countries’ media to the case of missing UK teenager Madeleine McCann.
