Shooting At Meijer – 1 wounded and 1 taken into prison after a shooting outside a Meijer in Greenfield

Shooting At Meijer – Greenfield police are investigating a shooting that happened outside the Meijer store near 60th Street and Layton Avenue on Wednesday, Sept. 28. A man received a gunshot wound and a lady was brought into the jail. According to police, officers arrived at the site around 10:30 a.m. after receiving multiple 911 calls of a gunshot at the Meijer store. Upon arrival, officers observed a male with a gunshot wound to the chest. A woman was brought into custody. Initial investigation revealed that the shooting occurred outside the business. Police say two individuals engaged in a disagreement, which led to one man physically hitting the other. As the altercation continued, a woman, who was accompanying one of the males, shot the other engaged party with a revolver.

Both guys engaged in the event were brought to the hospital for treatment. This was a single occurrence and there is no ongoing concern to public safety, according to Greenfield police.
