Victims Identified; Police on Scene After Shooting Reports at St Vincent Hospital

The Sherwood Police Department officers and Emergency Services agencies are responding to a sporadic shooting which may have left multiple victims shot in North Little Rock, Arkansas, on Wednesday afternoon, September 28, 2022. According to information the active shooting incident was reported to have happened at the The St Vincent Children Hospital.

Josh Cook, who works as the spokesperson for CHI St. Vincent North, initially confirmed the “suspected incident” at the hospital and said that the building is currently on lockdown. The Sherwood Police Department later confirmed it was an active shooter situation.

Hospital employees who were in the building at the time of the incident have said that the shooting occurred on the 4th floor of the hospital. Alongside Sherwood police, there are also officers from the North Little Rock Police Department, Arkansas State Police, and the Little Rock Police Department responding to the incident. Bill Sadler, with the Arkansas State Police, is calling the incident a “tactical response.”

The area is under lockdown as heavy police operation is currently ongoing in the areas while everyone are urged to find a secured shelter or better still totally avoid the area as investigation and large manhunt is ongoing at this time. At the time of the publication the exact number of victims is not known and investigation is ongoing.
